Hey Mark, what are you doing about eating organic?
Even on the Sunday marked not everything is organic. And if you do all organic we might be half of the time hungry : ) it is pricey.
I don’t eat everything organic. The thing about the farmer’s markets is that although a lot of it is not certified organic, most of it is not sprayed, so it’s really the same thing just not certified.
Hey Mark! Where do you go to get ripe oranges in SoCal? What are your favorite farmer’s markets? THANK YOU!
I’ve been getting them from the Silver Lake Farmer’s Market on Saturday. I go there and occasionally the Hollywood Farmer’s Market on Sunday.
Thank you!
Hey Mark, I’ve been going on and off from LFRV to LFCV for about 3 years now, but really want to give the raw diet a go, since I see many people (mainly endurance athletes) thriving on it.
I’m an amateur runner, and I’m wondering if you have any basic tips to give me. I live in Israel and conventional fruit is very good quality here, but my budget is not unlimited. In this season I’ve been enjoying yummy persimmons, pomegranates, clementines, oranges, etc. Besides, fresh or semi-dry medjool dates are dirty cheap here (around 6 dollars for a 2.2 lbs box). I’m wondering what’s your opinion about eating dates as a staple, or if I would rather be better by using them sparingly. By “staple” I don’t mean eating them exclusively, but eating them for, let’s say, one meal a day.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Martin
It you were to eat dates as a staple and they are semi dry, I would soak them and blend them in water. That’s what I’m having now. If you soak and blend in water, you can have them as much as you want.
Thanks a lot for your answer! Since they are so cheap, easy to store and always ready to eat (which is a ‘pro’ during the winter), I like to buy them often.
I’ll try to soak them and blend them (or at least blend them in water) as much as I can.
Sometimes I find fresh hayani dates at the market, which are great too.
Thanks again and see you on Strava 🙂 (I’m “Martin Wright” there).
Cheers.
Cheers Martin.
